RIA Designation Prerequisite Course: Building Construction and Science (Day One)

The RIA Building Science course provides students with an in-depth study of different structural building components, their correct assembly, and the relationship between the systems and the intended use of the structure. The Building Science course is a prerequisite for RIA advanced designations. Topics include foundations, framing, roofing, floor and finish materials, exterior finishes, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, damage investigation, and more. The RIA Building Science course provides a comprehensive overview of the different types of constructions and how they interact together to make the structure behave like a system. Restoration professionals will use this understanding to engineer restoration protocols that will be effective and logical.
